FS2002 / CFS2 Korea Corsair

This corsair is a repaint of the default FS2K2/CFS2 beautiful stock Corsair.
It represents a F4U4 during the Korea War.

This aircraft is semi-fictionnal. It's the F4U-4 Corsair BuNo is 81812, and was deployed as a part of the second flotilla (VF-791 "The Fighting Rebels") of the CVG-101 aboard the USS Boxer (CV-21) during the Korea War (period from March 2nd to October 24th 1951).
I did chose to represent a "semi-fictionnal" aircraft, as this one probably existed (the BuNo is in the F4U-4 range but not necessarily in this squadron even if the markings are realistic). The sure thing is that it did not flown through the decades to amaze us today. So I offer this aircraft in memory of all the Corsairs, scrapped or pushed away from their carrier's deck when they became useless for war purposes. There is only 30 Corsairs able to fly in the world now, and it's a shame, in my opinion. Yakolev is now building "new old Yak9", why Vought wouldn't try to do so ? Just a thought. Happy flying.

Version 3.0

PS : Recommended with Vought Corsair Sound Revision for FS2002 By Aaron R. Swindle
Skysong Soundworks. Adds a healthier sound inside and out, new
cruise wav's with doppling effect on the exterior.
